• Hello,
I posted this in another section and got no replies and really need some advice…

I am making a website which will allow users to buy products, add them to basket/cart and have a checkout page etc. Also they will be able to have a “My Account” page where they view their purchase history and orders etc so i was wondering if there is a plugin for that or something i can use to help me with everything? Any suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks

I also need them to be able to register, login, signout etc. is there a plugin that remembers all the new registers and then enables the users to login etc.? How does it work, does it create like a back end database with all the users or something?

to be able to register, login, signout etc. is there a plugin that remembers all the new registers and then enables the users to login etc.

Those basic functions are part of WordPress. For other things you have mentioned, you might try searching themes and plugins for “commerce”.

I know but i mean within my actual website, so the users can have their own account inside my website instead of creating a wordpress account, if you know what i mean?

And okay thanks for that part, will look for a plugin for commerce.

Your website is completely separate from your WordPress.org account, and the only thing that would tie it to a WordPress.com account would be if you used Jetpack. All users on your site are for your site only. They do not need to create any other account anywhere else.

But… From the sounds if it, I’d almost guess that you’ve got a site on WordPress.COM and not a self-hosted WordPress site? If that’s the case you would need to ask on the WordPress.COM forums as these are two very separate systems.

Right i see, thanks for that. The site is http://www.example.com/wordpress and it’s not mine but i am working on it for someone i know. He wanted me to have an option where users can register, login, logout etc and have their own “account” where they can see what they have purchased before etc.

Yes, the loigin/out etc are provided by WordPress. The account functions, like viewing past orders, are part of which ever e-commerce system you decide on. You’ll need to check out the various options to see which one works best for that particular site.

Okay but i watched some tutorials of people adding registration forms and then log in forms and login/signout buttons, to their website. I want to do something similar but when someone registers, how is their information stored? Is there some sort of database?

Again, all of that is taken care of by the e-commerce plugin, and that extends the standard WordPress user account system, so that’s taken care of for you.

The user, orders, store, etc info is stored in the database with all of the rest of the sites data.
