    Hi! I just updated http://www.rangerproof.com to WooCommerce 2.4.1. Now, regardless of the gateway I choose, I get the error “We were unable to process your order, please try again.” I have tried PayPal, etc and cannot get any of them to work.

    I am not using child themes, and the system status looks clear (which I will paste below. ) Does anyone have any ideas?

    I have fiddled with it, and got COD to work. Also, Paypal will work if I refresh the checkout page several times before proceeding. I can also get the check gateway to work if I refresh the page.

    I was advised to turn off all extensions, but I dont know if they mean plugins or just the woo commerce plugins….

    This is bad news, as this is a live site. Any help would be great. Thanks.

    By extensions I mean WooCommerce plugins.

    I deactivated all the plugins except the Woo Commerce and the Woo Commerce Authorize.net AIM plugin. That was it. Only two running. I get the error of : “An error occurred, please try again or try an alternate form of payment.” It simply will not take my information. Please help.

    The string:

    An error occurred, please try again or try an alternate form of payment

    Is NOT coming from WooCommerce. I cannot find that string anywhere. Are you sure its not your gateway?

    The original one can happen if the nonce is invalid. Caused by either;

    – caching of the checkout page
    – An outdated theme file

    Try a different theme.

    @jrewald2000 – were you able to get this resolved on your website? I ran into this exact issue on a client site this morning and wanted to see if you were able to resolve and if so, how>?

    I was able to track it using that error code. It had something to do with the actual merchant account. The error message was returning from them. I had to have them on the phone while I fiddled with it, and we changed some options on the merchant account side, and it began working. I think it was a combo of this and the theme… though I ended up using the same theme.

    Hope that helps.

    @jrewald2000

    Thanks for the reply, assuming by merchant you mean Authorize.net, correct?

    Well, Authorize.net is a gateway AND a merchant so it depends on your personal setup.

    I think for me, we were using someone like PAI or Payment Alliance. They are who the actual merchant account is with, and the ones I had on the phone. Now they use an Authorize.net emulator to take online credit cards, but in my case, Authorize.net was NOT the actual merchant account.

    Whomever it is that actually processes the cards and holds the money is who I am referring to.

    Good luck!
