• Hi,
I’m using the Pressbooks Textbook( 1.2.13), Pressbooks (2.4.5).

When I am trying to use the ‘search and import’ functionality I’ve noticed that only the results(chapters) which exist on both books (one that I am searching from, and one another) are returned. Is this the way how it’s supposed to be? In my case I need to get all the chapters whether they exist or not in the current book. I am looking forward to your reply.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

There are no explicit conditions in the code that would produce the effect that you are describing. Existing/non-existing chapters in the book that you are importing into have no bearing on what gets filtered for search/import. Search results get returned if the book/chapter is marked as ‘public’, if the search term is found in the book/chapter title and if the book/chapter license is not ‘all-rights-reserved’. Those are the only conditions that are necessary. Importing chapters requires only that you mark the book/chapter for import and hit ‘Start’.

If you are getting any error messages or can describe what can be done to recreate the behaviour I can look into it further, but right now I can’t think of anything that will be helpful to you besides confirming that this is not how it works on my system, nor was it a specific design decision.
