• Okay so firstly I now realize I shouldn’t have tried to change the URL in my general settings. That being said I have been reading through various threads on how to fix this issue (for the last few hours) and have tried the solutions listed with no success.

That being said, I can get into my wordpress dashboard via entering its original url/wp-admin. However, I am being hosted through godaddy and I can’t get to the wp dashboard through their site. In my godaddy databases my url is also still listed as the erroneous url.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated because I’m basically at my wits end.

To change the site address and/or the WordPress address back to the previous settings, you can use employ of the methods outlined at https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

That’s where my problem lies I’ve implemented those changes and it hasn’t fixed it. I tried through wp-config.php, the FTP functions.php, and with phpmyadmin and none of them yielded any result.

those methods have always worked for me. Check you are putting in the urls exactly as they were previously.

Did you take a database backup before changing the url? If so you could try restoring it to the database. If you do not have a backup, your hosting company may have a recent backup they can restore for you if you ask them, but they may charge a fee for that.
