Removing/Hiding pages

    I am trying to exclude pages from the nav and not having much luck. I downloaded the “Exclude or include Pages, Tags, Posts …” and “IM8 Exclude Pages” plugins. When I uncheck the page i dont want to show up nothing happens (I even moved a page to the trash), they still show up in the nav after i publish and view the site. Am I doing something wrong?
