I am having a similar issue. I took 28 pictures on a digital camera. I edited them in an external photo editor. The pictures were all saved. I then uploaded them into wordpress. They were oriented perfectly. I look at them on a laptop or desktop, they look fine. I then looked on my phone, they are sideways. They were not taken with an iPhone and not uploaded through iOs.
Does anyone have a fix to this problem. I really do not want to have to reload all of them AGAIN, and am not even sure what I can do differently so that I don’t have this problem again.
Thanks for any suggestions
Try this plugin:

You’ll need to re-upload the images though.
Issue comes from different ways that cameras and software can rotate images. It’s quite common for iPhone images to be oriented wrong in Windows, for example.
If the plugin doesn’t fix your problem, try stripping the EXIF info from your images before you upload them. If you’re using Windows, you can use a free program called Irfanview to do so.
