Meta titles help

Hi I have a question about the titles and meta

currently using these variables for the pages:

%%sitename%% | %%title%%%

So my titles for my pages now look like this for examples

Cakenomics | Gallery
Cakenomics | Contact

and so on

However for my homepage http://www.cakenomics.co.uk

I do not want it to display as: Cakenomics | Home

I would just like the standard wordpress format with the site title and tagline

Cakenomics – A home based cakery…

Is there a way to get around this,

I still want the variables for the other pages to be like the above except for the home, I tried doing it by changing the title to my site tagline, this works although it doesn’t appear in google search
