sorting by meta_key such as event date

Is it possible to sort by a meta_key as follows using this plugin?

[ic_add_posts post_type=’event’ orderby=”meta_value_num” meta_key=”event_date” order=”ASC” template=’event_service.php’ ignore_sticky_posts=’true’]
