Private Chat Window between Users

    Dear developer,

    Thank you so much for your hard work, I am testing your plugin and Quick Chat plugin as well. With Quick chat I can have a private chat window with other users, is it possible to have the same thing with Wise chat?

    My aim is to create a community hub around Network, Linux, and WordPress topics at ccnahub.com. The plan is to have different chatting rooms for each topic. Is it possible to have chatting room for each topic?

    One more thing please, can you please provide an example list for each short code that can be used in wise chat. I don’t understand and don’t know how to use all the codes. thank you

    Hi,

    thank you! As for the private messages – it’s not supported yet, however, it is one of key-features for the next releases. It is hard to tell when, but I think in 1-2 month there will be private messages between users using Wise Chat.

    You can create separate chat rooms using shortcodes:
    [wise-chat channel=”topic_1″], [wise-chat channel=”topic_2″], etc. The same you can achieve using PHP (see FAQ).

    There is currently one shortcode: “wise-chat” which purpose is to display chat window. It has a lot of options. See FAQ for complete list of these options.

    In the next version of the plugin there will be a feature that allows to create (administrator) private password-protected chat channels.

    Private messages between users are part of my future plans for the plugin.

    Private messages are supported now in Wise Chat Pro.

    How can I get Private messages to work with BuddyPress? I can’t figure out what shortcode to use and where.

    Only Wise Chat Pro has BuddyPress features. Send a direct message if you want to get support regarding Pro version.
