It looks like someone with access to your blog’s Dashboard changed the WordPress Address at Settings -> General to http://lnx.ndfly.it/wordpress/
It should be http://www.ndfly.it/wordpress/
You’ll need to follow this guide to correct it in the database: https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database
Hi James,
first of all… thanks a lot for taking the time…
I’m not an expert… not at all…
but I will try to read and understand…
Will let you know… thanks again for now š
Hi James,
unfortunately I can’t even log in!!! beacuse the captcha do not show at all,
probably all the links in the page are starting with (lnx.) and are not found at all… š
this is the log in page from the homepage on the website:
http://lnx.ndfly.it/wordpress/wp-login.php
that is not found….
I fI change it to:
http://ndfly.it/wordpress/wp-login.php
the page come out but now the problem is for the captcha that are not shown (you can check it out going to that link)
So… no idea about a way to log in!!!
How could all that happened??
Did you follow https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database to correct the siteurl and home values in the database, as mentioned earlier?
yep, I did James…
but I have no idea what they’re talking about…
on what I remember it’s always been http://lnx.ndfly.it/wordpress/ the wordpress address, because till last year the hosting was on both, windows and linux. The important web site was on Linux (I had to buy the linux hosting service to make my web site with wordpress). After I made the new website Linux hosted the old one stayed under windows without I even knew it… when I got to know I decided to not renew the windows hosting. So in mid June when I renewed all the services with the provider I did’t go for the windows hosting. I think that’s where the problem started, couldn’t it be that the provider when cancelling the windows hosting made (or it all went on automaticly) some change on the wordpress adrres of my website?
I don’t really know what I’m writing, but maybe somehow the reason of all this mess is in that recent change…
If I’m right, should the provider be the one in charge to fix the problem?
Right, you need to fix the problem, following the steps laid out at https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database
Which step are you having trouble with?
James… all of them… sorry…
I’ve no idea what’s in anyone of those steps…
starting from nr1: backup your database…
going to nr2: phpMyAdmin
and so on… till the last…
No way I’m going to make it… it’s like talking Russian to African!
“Backup your database” links to another detailed guide on how to do that.
You can skip that step, but it’s handy if you make a mistake later on.
phpMyAdmin, as detailed in the guide that links to, is often found in your hosting provider’s control panel.
You can fix this problem, you just have to read and follow each step. š
Alternatively, if you’re willing to give someone access to your hosting provider’s control panel and pay, you can hire someone to fix this for you. If you want to do that, please try http://jobs.wordpress.net/ or http://directory.codepoet.com/ and do not accept any hire offers posted to these forums.
What about volunteering to do it for free?
People are certainly welcome to volunteer to do it for free, I just generally don’t trust people who offer to do direct access work for free.
thanks for trying helping James.
A friend of mine is taking care of it… for me was impossible!!!
Thansk for the support š
