Yes, it is possible. Instead of a dropdown a multirow box to select more than one category – would that be comfortable?
Till the next version you can use the widget twice with different categories.
So for right now, it is not an option. But you plan to make it an option in the next version.
I’ll be looking for it!
Thanks!
With the new version 4.1 you can filter the posts by multiple categories.
If you are happy with the plugin I would be glad about a review by you.
Awesome. Works great. Thanks!
Martin, I just installed your plugin and all looks great so far, I look forward to using it going forward on my site. However, I’m having trouble getting it to behave the way it seems it should.
I’m trying to select multiple post categories to display. When I do so, it doesn’t display any posts. I can select a single category or I can select “All Categories” and these work fine. But when I use the Ctrl+Click to select multiple categories, I get back to none being shown.
Is there a trick to making this work that I may be missing?
BTW – I have parent and child categories in use. The results are the same no matter what combination of parent and/or child categories selected.
Thx
I could not reconstruct your case. On my test server the multi-selection works.
Does it work if you would select only parent categories?
It only works if I chose a single category, either parent or child, or if I choose “All Categories.”
If I select multiple categories, it acts like it accepts my selection but when I leave the widget, save the page and then come back into the widget, it shows that I’ve selected only “Uncategorized.”
I’ve also tried it on another installation, same result. It’s on same server, but different domain.
Can you change any other option and store that successfully?
Yes, other options seem to save and have the desired affect: number of posts to show, selecting show date, # of comments, excerpts, length of excerpts, thumbnail size, etc.
The category selection even saves and works when only one category is selected.
Really strange and interesting. I would take a closer look if you would send me the login credentials to your WP backend and MySQL admin area (like phpMyAdmin) to m dot stehle at gmx dot de.
