Display field IF Role?

I want to use a list that displays certain information for everyone, but additional information for certain Roles. How can I make a field “Display for Role2, Role3, Role4”? Or the reverse, which would be “Do NOT display for Role1”?

I don’t want to exclude the user, just have a conditional to not show that field for certain roles?

Seems obvious but I’m missing it!

No functionality to specify that sort of conditional stuff in the settings.

YOu’d have to write a custom formatting routine (little one) that checked what the role was and decided whether to write it out or not.

you could stick the function into your themes functions.php or your custom site specific plugin.

Grouping was misbehaving with a certain combination of add-ons so I pulled it until someone wants it.
If you need it, lets get your other stuff working first, then I’ll look at grouping again and see what it’s problem was.

Grouping will be up again soon.
This version however doesn’t play nice with alpha navigation.
so can filter while having groupings,
but cannot switch on alpha navigation at same time as groupings.

Keep me posted. Actually, this portion of the project may be going on hold while we move to Events and other things but I’ll likely still want it.
