Hello,
Regarding number 2; this is most often caused by a javascript error on the page, which prevents the rest of the editor from loading properly.
You can use your browser to diagnose for javascript errors. Please post back here any errors you see.
Also, you can deactivate ALL plugins… manually clear your browser cache… and see if the issue persists. If it does not, then you know a plugin is at fault.
Lastly, I bet if you fix number 2, it will also fix number 1 🙂
In all honesty, I don’t know how to do any of this and I’m getting a little confused with the online instructions. I’ll keep trying.
Well, another method would be as follows:
1) Deacivate ALL plugins.
2) Switch to the default 2015 theme.
3) Verify you did steps 1 and 2 (they are crucial).
4) Manually empty/clear your browser cache.
Now, check and see if the editor loads properly (it should).
5) Reactivate your theme you were using.
6) Go back and see if the editor is working.
If it does not; it is an issue with your theme.
If it does; continue.
7) Reactivate a few plugins (3 or 4).
8) Go back and see if the editor is working.
If it does not; you know one of those plugins are interfering.
If it does; continue.
9) Keep reactivating plugins until you find which one is breaking the editor.
We actually found the problem(s)!
A file was broken and one of our plugins was the one causing the visual editor to act up.
Thank you for your help!
