You are running a PHP version lower than PHP 5.4. This plugin needs PHP 5.4 to run properly. I made this decision as PHP 5.3 and earlier is no longer officially supported for one year now. Thus you won’t get any security updates for your PHP version. In any case it would be good if you update your PHP version to at least 5.4 (better 5.5 / 5.6).

    Check http://php.net/supported-versions.php for more information.

I sit with the same problem and my host just told me they are busy upgrading to 5.4 but could not tell me a date. So I am stuck with 5.3 and no way to get a gallery going on my site that looks even half descent.
Or I could pay them more money and upgrade WordPress…..!!!

The gallery plugins I have cuts off part of my photos and is not satisfactory.

I feel like I am somewhere in the 1990’s with this…..
