Set feature image stopped working

    Hi, I’ve tried looking in the forums for an answer to this, but can’t find a satisfactory one.

    The set feature image appears to have stopped working without rhyme or reason. One minute I was able to set the feature image for individual pages / blogs and then it just stopped working.

    I can see the selected image in the thumbnail where it shows what the feature image should be and I can find it in my media files so I know it’s there, but it’s not showing up on the page. The stupid thing is it was working five minutes before and I haven’t done anything differently.

    Are you able to suggest a fix for this? In lay-man’s terms please.

    Jut to clarify, the process of adding a featured image in the admin panel is working as expected but the featured images no longer show up on the actual site? Are all featured images affected or just the ones you’ve added since the problem began?

    Step 1 would be to switch to a default theme (like Twenty Fifteen) and disable your plugins. If the missing images reappear, the problem is either with a specific plugin or with your theme and reactivating everything one by one will help to narrow it down further.

    If that doesn’t work, a link to your site would be helpful.

    Yes, the process appears to be working in the admin panel, but the images are not showing up on the site. It’s not all images, just any I try to upload now. The images that took remain visible, but anything else I try to load doesn’t. It stopped working very suddenly. One minute I could change the image, next thing I knew it wasn’t working.

    Previously we had the same image of women walking up a hill on every page, which I only now want on the home page. When I upload the new image I can see it in the admin panel, but when I view the page it still has the original image.

    Thanks for the link. Did you try the suggested disabling of theme/plugins?

    I tried disabling the plugins but that didn’t help.

    I don’t want to disable or change the theme because the alternatives aren’t suitable for what I need.
