Incomplete Donation Reporting

I have upgraded to version 4.0.1 and the donation reporting is incomplete. I have received notification from PayPal of donations that are not reflected in the Seamless Donations report. Help!

From what I’ve been able to research it looks like it might be the “listener.” Is that on my end or PayPal’s? Also, I no longer have fund designations displayed on my donation form although it is set up in settings under form options. Does this upgrade no longer support fund designations?
@mj, I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with your implementation, but I’m working actively on a PayPal transaction data passthrough processing problem. Your log is different from the others I’ve looked at (you’re getting paypal.com errors, which I’m not seeing elsewhere), but your IPN is reachable externally (I was able to get back the default response).
My best suggestion at this time is to see if I find a bug that might also relate to your situation. I’m working actively on it, so let’s check back in a day or so.

Have you found the “bug” you referred to in your previous response? š
Yes. Definitely download the 4.0.6 release candidate (it will show up as 4.0.5 in WordPress). See the top sticky in the support forum. The IPN does open, but definitely move to the new version. It solves pretty much all that this talks about.

I deleted the old version and installed version 4.0.6. I submitted a donation via the website and received confirmation e-mails from PayPal. Below you will find our log data detailing activity from 24JUL2015 through 23AUG2015. Donations recorded on 17AUG2015, 19AUG2015 and 23AUG2015 are not listed on the “Donations” page. Only donations received 06OCT2014 and 06JUN2016 are listed.

There are a number of earlier transactions that were begun using older code (you can tell because the version number isn’t shown and the session ID says “dgxdonate_” rather than the sequence of cap letters and numbers.
Also, loose IPNs — those that say nothing to do — are generally coming back from a PayPal action and not finding anything appropriate to act on.
What all this means is it looks like you were using the older, problematic version (which I’m very sorry about), up until the last transaction shown in the log above. If you do more transactions where you see the version as 4.0.5 or above and you see transaction IDs like 67B710BE-E2DB-68CB-E1DC-648BA36D3972, and it’s still not working, then definitely flag me down.
One final note: there’s no tight connection between an initiated transaction and an IPN. IPNs are asynchronous, and triggered by PayPal (even sometimes as duplicates or randoms). This is an artifact of how PayPal does things, which is why I went to the whole new transaction audit system. The old way kept breaking if an IPN came in after WordPress or a host purged the transient data.
So, from what I can tell, your most recent transaction is working. Let’s hope that continues.

Great, but my “test” donation made after the update is not reflected in the donations list. As previously stated, only two donations are listed dated 10/6/14 and 6/6/15.

Okay, you’re using Seamless Donations 4.0.5. You MUST upgrade to 4.0.7. That fixed a substantial number of PayPal problems.
