• Hello.

I just started using wordpress for a blog and I noticed that even though all the images I uploaded are the same width they appear to be different widths on the actual blog.

This only happens to the top few images which are wider than the rest (these images are my prefered width I have to say)

I’m using safari and the url is…

I’m wondering if it is the sidebar that is effecting the first few images and if this is just a glith with safari. I looked at it in firefox and it looks perfect.

Does anyone know how I can ffix this?

if so what should I change and where will I find it?

    many thanks, mat

  • You said they look fine in Firefox (that ought to answer your question) – they all look the same size to me and Im also looking in FF.

And they also look fine ie7.

    Thanks for the reply.

It doesn’t quite answer the question.

I was wondering if anyone knew why it looked different in safari and if so does anyone have a fix?

    Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

A lot of people using macs (like myself) use safari and I’d prefer the blog to look how I want it to in all browsers.

    Any help would be appreciated.

start by fixing your few validation errors..specifically the structural ones.

Its sometimes amazing what having a semantically correct site will do for marginal browsers.

Thanks for that. It’s pretty littered with mistakes isn’t it.

I’ll correct them and then see what happens.

Just out of interest, I notice that a lot of the mistakes highlighted are:-

XML Parsing Error: Couldn’t find end of Start Tag a line

XML Parsing Error: attributes construct error

XML Parsing Error: Opening and ending tag mismatch

These have happened where I am using a text link to another page. On the actual blog to get this to work I put…

    Download Syntax

It does what I want it to but obviously I’ve done something wrong there so how should I write it?

    Thanks.

Oh I didn’t realise it would put the syntax in as a download in the above message. I hope that isn’t a problem.

What would the syntax be for a text link opening in a new window?
