No success message with Captcha activated

I’ve not encountered this issue before but I’m having the spinning arrow issue on my forms and the problem seems to be caused by Really Simple Captcha Version 1.8.0.1. If I deactivate Captcha plugin then the message does appear but with Captcha activated it doesn’t. The emails are being received but the user doesn’t get the success message. Any thoughts on what could be causing the issue?

I’m using Contact Form 4.2 and Captcha 1.8.0.1 on another websites with no issue.

It’s possible that Really Simple Captcha is a symptom of another JavaScript conflict.

The spinning arrow is a common symptom of a JavaScript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using. It can also be caused by a server-side warning or error. See Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers JavaScript Conflicts.

Thank you – I did read that before posting. I’m only using two other plugins aside from Contact Form 7, Contact to DB and Captcha. I’ve tried deactivating them and switching to a different theme (I’m using Enfold) but still having the same problems.

I’m running the exact same set up on other websites (theme & plugins) but with Contact Form 4.2 and they are working fine. I very reluctant to update the plugin on the sites in case the same issue occurs.

It can also be caused by a server-side warning.

I gave up in the end and switched to google captcha which is working perfectly. Thanks anyway!

You can always roll back to an earlier version of the plugin. Every release ever is here on this page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/developers/
