I’ve been a pro-member for quite some time now, and have gotten a lot of shares using the share sidebar-mainly tons of shares from Twitter. I’ve managed the tools from my addthis account all of this time. Recently, I installed this plugin, as its easier on my site loading time but in doing so, I lost all of my previous share counts. What can I do to get this fixed?

    Other Issues:

Also, I have linked my addthis id to the plugin so that I can retain settings I’ve made from my addthis account. However, my Custom Messages does not seem to work anymore, nor does my Recommended Content Footer. The only thing that seems to work are the share buttons with incorrect share counts.

I logged into my addthis account, and I received this message: Attention: You are currently using a WordPress account. To enable any changes made here in the AddThis dashboard, you must set your mode to “AddThis.com Dashboard” within the WordPress plugin.

So, I told the plugin that I want to control the plugin from my addthis.com account, and tools showed up on my website that I’ve disabled from my addthis account: Sharing Sidebar Counters & Follow Header-disabling the share counter that this plugin provides. I have no idea of how to fix any of this.

As I mentioned previously, I am a pro-member and I would like to continue to use this plugin, with correct share counts, and I want the other tools to work as well from the addthis dashboard.

    Hi there,

I am Elsa from AddThis support team. Thank you for contacting us.

I’d love to help you, but first I’ll need to see a publicly accessible URL address of the page on your site where you’re seeing the problem. Please note this is not the address of your home page but the address of a page which has the AddThis buttons installed on it.

Feel free to contact us for more questions.

    Thanks,
    Elsa.

    Hi Elsa,

The homepage has the AddThis Buttons, right above the Blog section: http://creativesolvibrations.com/ Also, all of the posts has the buttons under the article. Here is the link to one of the articles: http://creativesolvibrations.com/9-online-tools-for-enhancing-writing-productivity-in-students/

    Hey there,

    Sorry for the late reply.

    – You need to change the mode to addthis.com to get the sidebar sharing with counters.

    – You can use the plugin with the dashboard (addthis.com) mode activated. Just activate the share button from the dashboard. You can’t mix both the plugin config and dashboard config together. Only the chosen one will work at a time. Now the WordPress config is working and hence the sharing sidebar with counter and recommended tools won’t show up. I suggest you to activate the dashboard mode to enjoy the Pro privileges.

    – I checked the share count and its showing the total shares through AddThis buttons.

    I see… Thank you! 🙂

Hi Elsa, I’m having an issue with AddThis as well. Not sure that its related.

I’ve been using the free version for a while now. I upgraded to the paid version yesterday to get the jumbo buttons and more accurate social share counts. I changed from the “free sharing” buttons option to the “responsive sharing buttons” in the AddThis admin. I then went to my WordPress account, to the AddThis plug in and saved the changes. Under the Advanced Options I have AddThis checked to control the plugin. After checking the site many times in the last day, I’m still seeing the “free sharing” buttons that were already set up?

The site is http://www.DistilleryTrail.com and here’s a sample article with buttons activated.

    Hi Dan.

I took a look at your site and your AddThis.com account. The profile ID you’re using on your site has three AddThis tools enabled (and a targeting message) turned on. I was able to see all four items show up on your site.

However, your AddThis.com account has two profiles associated with it. The other profile only has one tool turned on. Could you have confused the two profiles?

In the upper left hand corner of your AddThis.com Dashboard, you should see the name of one of your profiles with a down arrow. You can click on the down arrow to switch between profiles. Alternately, the “AddThis profile setup” button in the WordPress plugin’s setting’s Sharing Tools tab will take you straight to your dashboard for the profile you’ve set up with the plugin.

Hi Julka, Thanks for your prompt response. I double checked the IDs and the DistilleryTrail one is the one connected to the WP site and it says PRO next to the profile in the admin. The things I set up with the free account are still working. The changes I made to get the PRO version going are not showing up though?

If I go to my WP admin, Settings/ AddThis / Configure AddThis Tools, it takes me to the correct account. The AddThis page under Tools is showing the Pro account changes I made but not making it over to the site. I checked and I have the latest 5.0.7 version of AD. I turned the plug in off then turned it back on again but the original free version is still showing up.

    Other suggestions?

    Hi Dan.

I visited the page linked above again, and looked at your profile for that site again. I now see four AddThis tools enabled (and a targeting message) turned on for that profile and was able to see all four items and get the targeting message show up on http://www.distillerytrail.com/blog/the-pros-and-cons-of-custom-glass-in-distilled-spirits-branding/

Could you be more specific about any tools you’re seeing that you turned off, or any that are missing?

I can’t list specifically what I’m seeing enabled and disabled on your account here. If you’d like to go over those specifics, we can discuss those over email via help@addthis.com.

Ok, will shoot you an email with a screen shot of what’s on the site and what’s in the admin. Thanks!

Ok, so I replied to Julka privately via email and she was able to help me out. I had to delete cookies to get the changes to display properly on the front end. Once I did that, all my changes appeared.

    Thanks for the prompt response!!!
