Help with Horizontal Menu for Spacious Theme

Hi, I’m needing help with transitioning my currently vertical header menu into horizontal. I realize there are plugin downloads I can do and even CSS available I can use to plug into my stylesheet… the problem is I’m not sure where to be placing them and into which stylesheet. If anyone recommends a good download or can direct me into identifying where to adjust it into my stylesheet, it’d be great. Thanks!
