To add Directory Password Protection / BasicAuth htaccess code you first need to set this up in your web host control panel.
1. Then you would add your BasicAuth password protection code to this BPS wp-admin Custom Code text box: CUSTOM CODE WPADMIN TOP:
wp-admin password protection & miscellaneous custom code here
2. Click the Save wp-admin Custom Code button.
3. Go to the Security Modes page, select the Activate wp-admin Folder BulletProof Mode Radio button and click the Activate|Deactivate button.
