Yes, You have to create FB app for this plugin to work with FB.
Why bcoz the APP, all other plugins doing without app can’t share exact images to FB, they just share the meta image of the current page that may differ from the image you clicked.

Okay, thank you for your reply and explanation. I understand why I need to create a Facebook app. What I don’t understand is *how*.
It looks like creating the Facebook app involves copying code into my site. Problem is, I don’t know how to do that (last time I tried, I temporarily broke my site). The whole reason I wanted a plugin was so I wouldn’t have to mess with code.
Could you explain for me how to add the Facebook app code into my WordPress site? I am running the Wilhelmina (also titled Rosemarie) theme on the Genesis Framework. I’m using WordPress 4.2.2.

You don’t need to paste any code in your template .
just create the FB app it have an Id , just paste that ID in Social share plugin configuration section. thats it.

I am not able to create an app for Facebook. This would be a perfect plugin if the Facebook link just worked without having to take this extra step. It’s almost exactly what I’ve been looking for, I can’t even find a paid version of something like this that is this clean and nice.
It’s a bummer that I have to build an app, which I do not know how to do even with your instructions, is the only way to get this to function.

You don’t need to build an app, just need to create an app in the FB with your FB account. the instructions are clearly mentioned http://www.walkswithme.net/social-share-icons-on-image-hover here , when you check at the http://www.walkswithme.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Fb-app-creation-300×254.jpeg image it have clear idea to set your domain url, then just publish the app.
The share image will only works with FB App creation boc FB update few things last year.
