Hi,
Some questions to get us started:
- Have you customized the widget template in any way?
- Are you using any of the widget’s filters or actions?
- Does your theme or any plugins filter the function
the_excerpt() in any way?
hey, i ditn’t customized the template and i’m not using any filters oder actions.
i guess there is only one plugin which is using the excerpt function. it’s »Advanced Excerpt« — but it’s deactivated.

Ok. This sounds like a plugin or theme conflict issue. Please try disabling all plugins except Feature a Page Widget and see if that resolves the problem. If so, re-activate them one-by-one until you find the conflicting plugin. If you do, I can try to recreate the problem and find a fix.
If that doesn’t solve the problem, please try the site with the Twenty Fifteen Theme and see if that solves the problem. If so, then it’s a theme conflict and we’ll work through that.
You can do this on a copy of the site if you have one. I realize this is inconvenient but it’s the only way to isolate the issue which is the first step in fixing it.
