    Hello,

In our facebook page we usually publish our posts in multiple languages (using facebook’s post visibility settings), for instance, we have posts in english and portuguese, and they are set to only be visible by people using those languages on facebook (or having those languages listed in their basic info).

My problem is that this plugin retrieves posts from our facebook page regardless of language, and we end up having it display multiple translations of the same posts.

Is there a way to make it only show posts in english, or better yet, something like using a different shortcode for each language, showing only posts in the language currently in use by the visitor?

I think there was also something weird happening with the “Like box” that was making it ‘overflow’ into the content below it, but that is a separate issue probably more suited to another support thread, for now I just deactivated the like box while we figure out what happened with that.

    Hey diZturbio,

This may be possible but could you send me a link to your Facebook page so that I can check the Facebook API for your page to see what data is available?

Also, if you can activate the Like Box again then I’d be happy to take a look and see what’s happening there for you.

    I hope you’re having a good Friday!

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I’ve been so busy I almost forgot I had posted about this issue.

The Facebook page for the site I was referring to when I wrote my OP is: https://www.facebook.com/OttiuPT

I have also activated the like box again on a development version of that site so you can take a look at the overflow issue, you can check it at http://dev.ottiu.com .

The credentials for viewing that site are:
    user: ebdev
    pass: emotionalweb

If you need access to that site’s dashboard please tell me so I can create an account for you and share those credentials, preferably privately.

I am also redoing another site in which I plan to use your plugin as well, the facebook page for the site I’m working on now is https://www.facebook.com/CreativeMary, in case you’d also like to check the Facebook API for that page.

    Best regards!

    Hey Jose,

I took a look at the Facebook API for your page and it doesn’t look like it’s possible to separate out the posts based on language I’m afraid.

To fix the Like Box issue you’re having though, you can just add the following to our plugin’s Custom CSS section, which is under the Misc tab on the plugin’s Customize page:

    .cff-likebox{ height: 100px; }

Let me know whether that works for you, and I hope you had a good weekend!

    John
