• Just tried to run a manual scan but it just shows an error floating randomly above the start scan button saying: error pTypeConverter line 118 or some such thing.

I deleted said plugin and tried again. Now the scan won’t start at all.

Also can’t save settings. Have tried everything in the various old support posts, forums etc. except playing with PhpMyAdmin. Not exactly my skill set, unfortunately.

I have tried uninstalling reinstalling but even thought WP asks if I would like to delete the data it saves it anyway and the problem is still there when the “new” version is installed.

I can’t try: Start all scans remotely because my settings won’t save
Also can’t try: Disable config caching because my settings won’t save

I still get notifications that I logged in but the scheduled scan didn’t start.

Hosted on GoDaddy.com No site error logs are generated when I try and start a manual scan.

    Ideas?

  • Obviously its not removing all the data here so go to your plugins page >> add new and search for “wordfence assistant”. This gives the ability to remove database tables and things associated with Wordfence. Remove the wordfence folder in the plugins directory via ftp afterwards. This should remove everything so settings will be gone. Reinstall Wordfence from the plugins >> add new menu or, better yet, download the plugin from the top of this page and upload it manually.

Let mus know if this works for you.

    Hi Tim,

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

After deleting the plugin and looking in the wp-content/plugins folder via FTP there is no folder for WordFence.

    Any other suggestions?

Alright. I downloaded WF assistant and clicked on the Delete WF Data and Tables button nothing happened that I could see. Reinstalled WF. Clicked the SCAN button. Nothing happened. My options are all back just the way I left them as well. And I still can’t save either. What to try next?

Ok, then it definitely did not remove the tables and data before because those settings would not repopulate if you did. When you looked for the folder, were you inside the wp-content/plugins folder (may be asking the obvious but want to be sure we’re checking everything).
