I’ve seen this happen when the theme folder or file permissions are not set correctly. And the folder/files have become not writable by the server.
I too am missing my editor from my appearance menu. I’m taking a class on creating custom wordpress themes and I cannot continue without the ability to edit.
What I did is that I uninstalled quick install by hosting company and manually installed wordpress via FTP (filezilla). Now I have editor option under appereance. I think, before it was blocked by hosting company if we install wordpress with their so called quick install/ click n build option. Hope it help u to solve your problem. Happy site building with freedom.
Can I add my question to this thread? If so, here goes:
I have the same problem. If I implement rangzen59’s solution, what happens to my web site? Won’t a whole new install of WordPress just be the default install, without all our theme and content?
Linda
The background image that I uploaded wont show up on my new page. HELPPP
Gary, I don’t think you’re posting in the right thread. You’ll likely get better responses if you start a new one about your image issue. This one’s about the editor disappearing under Appearance on the admin panel.
Good luck,
Linda
