Starting at Square One Again

I’ve had WP up and running, and worked with it in, entries templates, and a little spookin’ around with the code.

When I set up my db, I was given the options to setup as, my entire site, or part of my site. I went with entire. I’m now wanting it as part of my site. I want to access WP from a link on my html files.

I was told by db support to start fresh. So I downloaded the files from the server/db to my local site file.

When I read the Server Provided instructions:
http://machighway.com/support/support_topics/blogs/how-to/wordpress_as_folder.php

I can’t see any difference in the set up then what I have already in there. What’s the trick that makes it a part of a site vs entire?
