Problems with Installation /Site going live

    Hi, when I go to the Control Panel and install wordpress, it tells me that my domain needs to be verified. However, it has already been verified. I tried the resend button, but it tells me that already verified.

    When I get to the install process it tells me this :We noticed the domain you are installing at is not set up yet with your hosting provider.
    We can still install this, then once your domain is set up you will be able to see your installation.

    It has installed ok, but my site is not live. Its over 24 hours now, is this normal?

    We noticed the domain you are installing at is not set up yet with your hosting provider.

    Have you discussed this with your hosting provider?

    Its over 24 hours now, is this normal?

    – Not clear, are you talking about DNS? Yes? First, it can take anything from 24 – 72 hours for DNS/nameserver records to fully propagate.
    – Every single hosting provider handles this differently, so you may need to get in touch with them for more details.

    It sounds as though you bought and registered your domain name with one provider and bought your hosting account with another.

    If this is the case, then you have to change the domain nameservers (DNS) at the place where you bought the domain to the nameservers of your hosting account.

    Once this is done, it can take a while for it to become effective, as Tara pointed out.
