• This is probably a stupid question, but I just can’t find the answer anywhere! I have created a 2nd Admin for my blog, and given him a username/password, email address, etc. The problem is: when he tries to log in to Site Admin, it gives the error message: Incorrect Password.

I see that he exists with the correct password when I click on the Users tab in Site Admin. I even went into phpMyAdmin and manually input the right password, and he is still unable to log in.

He’s tried using both the password I grant him and the password I use, and neither has any luck.

Does anyone have any clue what’s going on? I am a huge WordPress newbie, so please excuse my ignorance…

  • I may be wrong but the password that gets stored in the mysql database gets hashed (ie. encoded) so putting it in there unhashed won’t work ,– correct me if I am wrong.

Try making a new user again an see if it works.

Thank you for your help, mrkingid! I made a few new users in a row, and one of them finally worked. I can’t figure out what is different about the ones that work vs. the ones that don’t work, but the end result is all I’m interested in! Thanks for your quick response. 🙂
