• I am moving my blog to a new server, which will allow me to upgrade to 2.2 (the old server had an outdated version of MySQL, so I could not upgrade on it)

I have transferred the blog over and imported the database, and the blog works perfect on the new server.

I went ahead with the upgrade, following the procedure exactly; deleting most of the old files, disabling plugins, etc.

When I go to wp-admin/upgrade.php, I get the error: There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.

The file is there, and I have even CHMODed everything to 777. I have tried deleting the file and creating a new one using WP, but I get this error:

“Sorry, I can’t write to the directory. You’ll have to either change the permissions on your WordPress directory or create your wp-config.php manually.”

    Any suggestions? I am stumped.
