• Hi everyone,

I installed several wp sites on hostpapa and planethoster, via cpanel.
With Planethoster, the speed of loading is very fast, but I had serious problems with hacking : spam files are directly upload in several wp files, sometimes, the site is redirected. They told me that maybe certain plugins caused that, and wp should always be up to date.

But with hostpapa, I never had these kinds of problem. However, it’s been a long time now that wp is not updated and there are a lot of plugins (also not updated).

It is possible for you guys to figure out what may be the problem, sorry I don’t know how to have more information. Maybe I can check php config if you could tell me what should I have to do.
    Thank you very much

    1. That can all be prevented at the server level. The fact that they aren’t aware of this and are simply blaming WP suggests to me that you should leave immediately.

If you choose to move: https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_to_a_New_Server

    2. If you choose to stay, remain calm and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    3. As soon as a WordPress update is released, it’s announced at https://wordpress.org/news/ including what the update fixes. WordPress is also open source software, meaning the everyone can see how it has been fixed. Anyone can reverse engineer those security fixes into how to exploit older versions.

I say this to mean that you should never under any circumstances refuse to update WordPress. The minute you do that, you become an easy target for anyone looking to cause some random chaos.
