post display control

I’m wishing to learn how to control the wordwrap that my articles display with. it seems as if there is no set boundary for my text to display in I wish to make it more column like and actually take on a structured form. I probably haven’t worded my question right but if you’ll visit here and look at an article you will see what I mean. I want to format the post is what I think my actual question is.
