User profile search page

    Hello friends, I am a newbie to wordpress. I managed to learn WordPress basics and have erected my site. What i am trying to do is that to design a user profile search page that displays the user’s details independent of those that are registered in my wordpress site. In short, how to add a user profile search page? I don’t know if this is possible via plugin or modifying the code. Please guide me !!!

    Tell me if this concept is right. To populate all the details like name, picture, address and other custom fields to a database. Create a search page within wordpress. If i enter the name and search, it should display the entire profile. Is this possible???
