2 Column sidebar alingment issue

Hello all. I have a 3 column theme – 1 post column, and 2 sidebar columns. I have some categories in one sidebar column, and Google ads in the other. In FireFox, the ads line up perfectly with the top of the 1st sidebar column, but in Internet Explorer, the Google ads are floating at the bottom of the page. I think the main issue here is that the sidebar is one file, versus 2 separate files, one for each column. I’ve tried using floats, and absolute positioning, I’ve also tried creating a separated php file for the last sidebar, but I’ve had no luck. Any suggestions? Help? Please, thanks!
