SQL Connection Problem

    Hi, I have tried to install wordpress, I have php and apache running on my windows 2008 server. I have setup a SQL database called LUXBAY with a user created, but when I try to install wordpress, It cannot configure the wordpress wpconfigure.php file. I have connected to the SQL Database using a program called heidi, but still had no luck installing wordpress. I would like to install wordpress locally on my network with the sql server. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? entering the wrong creditionals or something, have checked firewall and things to, but still no luck.

    Hi theluxbay,

    Have you given the MySQL user all the appropriate permissions to make changes to the database?

    Im c=kinda confused here, what does wordpress need a remote login? what permissions should I set? thankyou for your hep. I can connect to the server using heidi via direct tcp/ip does a wordpress server check the install, whats it doing to create the config.php ?

    Oh oops im sorry I was trying to setup wordpress with a Microsoft SQL Server lol and I see it only uses MySQL gnu free lol, sorry,
