When installing multisite with subdomains WordPress shouldn’t tell us not to use www for the main site. A fix should be addressed to allow for this.

Most websites that use subdomains always include www for their main web address. For instance, you would go to www.fiverr.com; however, to get to their support center you would enter support.fiverr.com in the address bar. You would never, ever see www.support.fiverr.com because:

    1. It’s not correct
    2. It incorrectly has two subdomains (www and support).

I hope that it can be fixed to allow for the use of www without warning us that it could break.

  • Jason, I know what you mean… There’s alot of different opinions regarding the use of www at all any more.

In your example and using the WordPress and its recommendation, you would go to fiverr.com for the main site, and support.fiverr.com for the support site, and still you would never see http://www.support.fiverr.com … Even though personally I believe it is a valid and correct “sub-sub-domain”

If you dont like the ‘WordPress way”, you can always try your own despite the recommendation.

    Good Luck
