Fatal Error

Updating the plugin caused every url on my site to display nothing but a blank page, including the wordpress administration. I renamed the plugin folder via FTP to cause it to deactivate and to regain access to my site. I then renamed the folder as it should be, attempted to reactivate the plugin to see if the error persisted and am now being told that it cannot be activated because it is resulting in a fatal error. Any ideas?
