• Hi there,

I use two languages on my site, thanks to qtranslate X.
I need to translate the captions for my posts and assign a different featured image. How can I do that ?
If qtranslate X doesn’t allow for this, is there an other plugin I can use, to your knowledge?

    Thanks
    Rafika

    @rafkika,

I need to translate the captions for my posts

Go to Media, Library set view to List.

Choose Edit. Caption, Alternative Text and Description. Use the Language Switch Buttons

    a different featured image

I have not tried. See FAQ and try – Is it possible to translate theme custom fields? –

That’s great!! I can change descriptions and captions.
    Thanks @gunu

For the featured image : I’m not sure I understand. There are Custom Fields in my theme but I don’t see how those could allow me to change the featured image based on the language. Any idea?

I’ve never tried it, maybe this can not be set for different languages.

Could anyone help me with these then ?
I don’t know how to get that sorted and would really like to be able to change the featured image depending on the language (not all the time but for some posts)

If you feel like adding a bit of php to your template, you can change the way the featured image displays on your post or page quite easily. But the problem is that there are many ways that a featured image could be called (for example in a list of search results, in a blog, on a category page). So to foresee all these options you might have a lot of programming to do.

    This also maybe useful

ah ok. I’m not that techy so I doubt I can do that.
So there’s no way this update can be included in next releases of the plugin?
    Thanks for your help Gunu
