I went through my website to update some page. got that done no problem. no issues whatsoever. I saw some plugins needed updating, so I updated those. again, no problem. I saw there was a new WordPress Upgrade, but also had some themes needing updating. decided to update the themes then I’d upgrade my site. I selecte dthe themes, hit update. and…

It took me to a white page that said:
Warning: require(/home/petsil1/breezeecreekfarm.com/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/inc/theme-options.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/petsil1/breezeecreekfarm.com/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/functions.php on line 86

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/petsil1/breezeecreekfarm.com/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/inc/theme-options.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php5/lib/pear’) in /home/petsil1/breezeecreekfarm.com/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/functions.php on line 86

What is this? Where is my website? This was our family’s Farm website for advertising goats and sharing important data about our herds blood lines. have goats pending sales so NEED this site up and running. A lot of work has been put into this site.

    Someone please help!!!

There are two things you can do:

    1. Manually upgrade to WordPress 4.2: https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended

    2. Access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate so you can access your Dashboard and use the auto-updater.

Thanks for the work around. Ran into the same issue on my site. Looks like the Twenty Eleven and Twenty Fourteen are missing most of the files after the upgrade. I tried to reproduce the issue on a second site but the upgrade was fine.
