Googlebot doesn't recognized SCCSS

We’ve been recently optimizing our sites to meet Google’s guidelines on mobile friendliness using this tool: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/
We also utilize this tool: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/googlebot-fetch-details
One common issue: It appears Googlebot (gbot) does not see CSS from this plugin. When you use those tools, it prints out an image of how gbot sees the site. I noticed the design was very messed up in gbot’s eyes. After extensive troubleshooting, I have found that when I delete sccss.css (chrome inspector) the site looks identical to how gbot sees it.
This may explain why we are getting false positives: “Your site is not mobile friendly!”
My guess, this has something to do with how the SCCSS plugin is included in the output. Any thoughts?
