Problem with my WordPress 4.1.2 update

Hello, I am managing 2 websites with completely different wordpress themes and plugins, after the automatic update WordPress 4.1.2, all of my websites have same problem. I can’t update anything on my pages. Content, pictures, titles and descriptions. I am using NextGEN galleries and can’t load images, change titles or add new gallery folders. Anyone else having the same problem?

I have also problems with this update. When I try for example to publish, update any page or a file from my template, it’s taking me to the home page. what update is this? 🙁 is there a way to solve that?

I am having the same problem. Lost the tinymce editor toolbar since upgrade to 4.1.2
I tried de-activating all plugins but the problem did not go away. From that I deduce that its not a plugin issue.

@johansborman – start by deactivating ALL plugins and switching to a default theme to see if you still have the uploading problem.

Thanks @wpyogi. All plugins disabled. What is a default theme? I’m using the theme called Pure and Simple. What happens if I switch to a different theme, won’t all my customisations be lost?

You won’t lose anything – Twenty Fifteen is the current default theme.

ok. I just disabled my NextGEN gallery and lost all my images… this is a nightmare! What’s a girl to do without code 🙁 I spent a full day customising the theme. Do I really need to start all over?

All of these things will “come back” when you reactivate them. This is STANDARD troubleshooting – to see if a plugin or the theme is causing the problem.

ok. I deactivated all plugins. I activated Twenty Fifteen. Refreshed. Then reactivated Pure and Simple and reactivated NextGEN gallery… Still the same problem…

I can edit content on pages. cannot load pictures or gallery folders. So it seems a problem with NextGEN plugin and the new wordpress update.

Did everything work okay when you had all plugins off and Twenty Fifteen active (aside from NGG not being active so obviously not working at that point)? Could you upload images the “regular” way?

If so, then reactivate NGG – test then using Twenty Fifteen.

Just for the sake of everyone else.
I have resolved my issue.

It seems that the problem had to do with NextGen Gallery. I deactivated NextGen Gallery and re-installed WP 4.1.2

I am now fine.

Great :)! Sounds like NGG has some issues.

ok. So the probem seems to be the interface between WordPress and NGG? I have updated to wordpress 4.3 and still have the same problem. I must be able to use the nextGEN gallery. Please help find a solution or I will have to quit WordPress and find an alternative.
