Carousel not working

I have a template that uses a Carousel to display some posts, all of a sudden it stopped working. But I hadn’t edited any of the files when it stopped, so would this be due to a software update? Where can I begin to try and find why it’s just stopped being displayed. It displays the heading and then a blank section where the carousel images and text are meant to be.
If anyone can tell me where to begin looking that would be fantastic.’Thanks
