Install theme button GONE

Hi everybody,

I’m running a 3.7.1 WP installatio on a commercial website hosted by 1&1 (in Spain) since about 3 three years and NO PROBLEMS to dat.

Unfortunately yesterday I was thinking about change the visual layout of my site and considered upload and install a new theme.

I went to the appereance sectrion, I choosed Themes and saaw that the INSTALL THEME butoon was gone!!!

I already deactivated all the plugins but no effect. I didn’t do anything strange lately, just post articles.

What may be happened?

How can I get Install Theme button back and finally be able to install new themes once again?

I think I didn’t explained what happening…

I want to install a new theme but in the administracion panel, APPEREANCE section if I click THEMES I once see a tab labeled “Install new theme” (or add new theme or something similar, excuse me if the name is incorrect since I’m using WP in italian translation) where if I click on it it showed me a list of themes which I can install directly on line from WP.com or allows me to upload a previously downloaded zipped theme.

Well this “Install theme” tab has completely disappeard frome the themes section so I won’t be able tu install any theme at all.

No, I’m not ’cause my host doesn’t support FTP.
Anyway I would like to know what happend.

3.7.1 is old and outdated version of wordpress.

upgrade to latest version, you will have to follow these instructions and dont upgrade by clicking update button in wordpress as you have to jump more than 2 versions.

seriously??? file manager acess via cpanle/sftp/ssh access? something will be there for sure.

3.7.1 maybe outdated but I can’t belive this may be a reason for an administrative tool disappear without any apparent reason
