Return address after payment for custom capabilities

I have a simple question to which I cannot find the answer searching s2member documentation and forums. I wish to sell custom capabilities to logged in members (they have to be logged in to buy the custom capability, yes?). The question is which page is the member returned to after paying (with Paypal)?
and how can I control the page the member is returned to?(note: the documentation says that the return will be handled “gracefully” even if you don’t add a success return value in your paypal button code, and my understanding from the forums is that the success return does not work with existing members – which still leaves me in the dark.)
