Trouble with tags

Did I misunderstand… I enabled the option to replace all

 tags with this plugin's code box, but nothing is happening unless I manually change them all over to your shortcodes.

Also, I enabled shortcodes in bbPress forums, but when I try to use this plugin's shortcodes in a forum post, it simply returns '1' and nothing else. My code is still there when I edit it, but upon displaying it everything is wiped out to just the number one (no code box either).
