XML import only partially worked

    I have a WP.com blog nowsourcing.wordpress.com that I’d like to move over to my own host at nowsourcing.com/blog (running WP 2.2). I was able to generate an XML export on the WP hosted, but when I try to import on my own host:

    1 – all my posts are missing from June 15 – current (with exception of drafts)
    2 – comments are messed up (didn’t capture author name correctly)

    Any thoughts?

    In my experience of this the whole export / import malarkey is hit and miss. I can not offer a solution. But a search here will show you are not alone. The export is very much *a work in progress*. The last one I did for a client I used WP 2.3 alpha. Not flawless. But pretty good.
