Those mysterious '%1$s ?

    I would love to get some information about what these ‘%s’ or ‘%1$s’ – variables? – that I occasionally come across in theme template files refer to. I’m sure there’s a simple system / explanation – and I would love to grasp it!

    For example, in the twentyfifteen theme, in the content-none.php, one can see an example.

    I appreciate the impending clarification and the ‘AHA’ moment that will ensue! 🙂
