mod_rewrite

Hello! I have recently installed WordPress, to a directory called “wp” in my server. However, I had to move it so, that the blog is located in the root of it for certain reasons (please don’t ask, that is not the point of this topic). However, now, I am having certain troubles. You see, for example, I have a folder like this:

public_html —
folder —
index.html

However, the problem is, that, I can not access this index.html. It, instead, goes into my blog, to the 404 page. What would the ideal solution be?
