After I add an image (eg a jpg) to a WP post I can then link a second file (eg a pdf) to it by replacing the first image’s URL with the URL of the second file. Is it possible to do this in NexrGen Gallery?

Also, how can I do the same thing to each of the images when I upload more than one image?

Please note – I am not familiar with changing, adding or replacing text in the Editor.

    Thank you.

@andrew-dd_1937 – I’m not understanding what you are trying to accomplish … could you provide any more details and specific examples of where you are doing what you are describing?

If I want to put a photograph on a post or page I can do this by adding the image (JPG) from the WordPress Dashboard media. If I then want that image (JPG) to be linked to another file (PDF) I replace the JPG image’s URL with the URL of the PDF. Then when the post or page is published a viewer can either click or tap on the published JPG and the linked PDF file opens.

I do not seem to be able to do the same thing using Nextgen Gallery, especially if I upload more than one JPG because only the first JPG shows on the post or page before it is published thus preventing me from using the edit bar link ikon. Also, the Nextgen Gallery does not allow me to upload PDF files.

    Thank you for helping.

@andrew-dd_1937 – Thanks, that additional description was very helpful. Unfortunately we do not have an option to specifically link images from gallery displays but you can use the [singlepic] shortcode and its link parameter to link a specific image to essentially any URL you wish.
