Hi, I don’t know if this is a common issue but I just simply did a redirect for my home page at luckyredinc.com to luckyredinc.com/# (only because the /# URL had footers I wanted to set for the home page).
I just used the WordPress URL under Settings/General options.

The format COMPLETELY changed, now I can’t even get back into my WordPress dashboard…..

I went to my hosting control panel to redirect it to my original URL but my site still is under this URL: http://luckyredinc.com/?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fluckyredinc.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1#/wp-login.php

Help Please!!!! I have tried removing/disabling plugins, changing theme names.

I am using the MyArcade Plugin and Arcade Pulse theme btw

    Thanks,
    Maggie

    Maggie,

If you have access to FTP, you still have options. Check out https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL to see how you can change your site URL manually.

You will need to use the function.php update method.

I tried the URL change via FTP it didn’t work.

When I go into wp-login.php I get directed to the http://luckyredinc.com/?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fluckyredinc.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1#/wp-login.php.
Plus the login screen looks really off, it doesn’t look like the WordPress login.

I think the # seems to have caused all these problems. I tried deactivating the plugins and that didn’t work either…

Are you sure that you did the site url update properly? This is a 100% guarantee that it would work and remove the # if indeed you only changed the URL in the site url options.

Even if wp-login.php would let you log in, you would be redirected to the wrong location since the site URL is not correct in the database.

    – Ensure that you have cleared your cache
    – Ensure that if your server uses cache, that it is cleared as well.

If you have access to PHPMyAdmin you may have to handle the URL change manually. Instructions for this can be found in the codex I shared before.

thank you but it is not a PW problem. WP changed my pw because they said I had not been in my WP account for a few months (had no need to go there) although I was in my lifemapsolutions site just yesterday working on it. The OLD bellsouth email is the problem, so when I try to reset a pw it goes there and I can’t get it because it was hacked months ago. WP doesn’t give me an option to CHANGE that email, only to create a new one, which shows me as a new customer and still cant get back into my site dashboard.

Are you trying to login via WordPress.COM dashboard? I see that link on your login? IF so, go here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

WordPress.ORG does not change passwords on sites – in fact, has no ability to do so.

All I ever do to get into my dashboard and site is go to http://www.lifemapsolutions.org/wp-admin or admin/. This morning when I did it as usual, it gave a “fatal error” long message…one moment out of many when I went to WP it kicked back and said they had changed my info. I don’t get it that is all I have to go on.

Oh sorry, just noticed this is a different thread – let’s keep it in the other thread – it’s very confusing to have multiple conversations and frankly, people in this thread really don’t need to get emails about something unrelated to their issue.

The account recovery only changes the PW and sends it back to the old hacked bellsouth account? I’ll try to ask Hostgator for help.

Hi, whilst this post is still open

Do you guys know how to change a certain page URL through MyPHP Admin?

Under my luckyredinc.com I want to change the URL of the ‘Categories’ page from luckyredinc.com/# to just luckyredinc.com

Can’t seem to find it when I go into wp-options

    Thanks 🙂
